      ~ a real scary track, the Boyz make some spooky noises in the middle of the song. And it's in a minor key!
• Hot Soup! ~ Dead Egyptian Blues ~ Hot Soup!
      ~ song in a minor key about a scary mummy!
• The Heebee-Jeebees ~ Ebeneezer ~ Fa La La La La
      ~ the scariest Christmas song ever! ghosts, a mean dude, and the Heebee-Jeebees' deep bass singer sounds real malevolent!
• Mint Juleps ~ The Snake ~ Round Our Way
      ~ no matter how much they sweet-talk you, a snake can't be trusted! he gave that woman a VICIOUS bite!
• The Exboyfriends ~ Frankenstein ~ A Cappella's Dead
      ~ a great a cappella version of this monster classic!
• Nylons ~ Prince Of Darkness ~ The Best Of The Nylons
      ~ another song in a minor key ~ real scary stuff
• The Fairfield Four ~ Lonesome Valley ~ O Brother, Where Art Thou? (soundtrack, various artists)
      ~ In the movie, the Fairfield Four are grave-diggers. Dickie Freeman's powerful bass just rumbles!
• Similar Jones ~ I Believe ~ So It Seems
      ~ this song is beautiful and NOT scary. (I pushed the wrong button when trying to cue up Evil Ways) But I don't like to cut off such a nice track, so we had a break from total scariness!

      ~ the David Byrne song about a psycho killer sung by the Bobs ~ you KNOW it's scary!

      ~ these baebes are some real scary chicks! their photos on the CD cover feature some hair-styles with twigs and spiderwebs and all that scary stuff!

• Northampton Harmony ~ In Evil Long ~ The Hookes' Regular Sing
      ~ Lots of shape note music is in a minor key and the singing style is very intense. This song is one of the best "scary" shape note tunes
• Golden Gate Quartet ~ I Heard Zion Moan ~ Traveling Shoes
      ~ the singers whisper and moan this one, "Weep little children, weep below"
